Prophet Security officially launched in 2023 after securing $11 million in seed funding from Bain Capital Ventures. The company spent its early years working closely with experts in Security Operations and design partners, refining its technology, and understanding how agentic AI could operate the way a senior analyst does inside a modern Security Operations Center (SOC). By 2025, Prophet Security had expanded commercially, serving organizations across healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, media, and technology sectors.
At the center of the company’s platform is Prophet AI SOC Analyst, an agentic AI-powered solution designed to autonomously triage, investigate, and respond to security alerts. Unlike traditional workflows where alerts sit in queues waiting for analysts, Prophet AI immediately begins investigations the moment an alert is triggered. The speed difference is significant. Human analysts often require 30 to 60 minutes to fully investigate a single alert, while attackers may establish control over systems in less than 30 minutes. “If a defender takes one to four hours, the attacker takes less than 30 minutes. It’s game over,” Shah noted.
Prophet AI reportedly reduces average investigation times to approximately four minutes while eliminating alert dwell time. The platform dynamically builds investigation plans, gathers evidence from connected tools, correlates findings, and produces explainable conclusions backed by data. What differentiates the system, according to Prophet Security, is not the agentic architecture itself but how it reasons. Where legacy SOAR platforms depend on fixed workflows and static playbooks, Prophet AI treats that kind of guidance as context rather than a script, classifying each alert and determining the investigation plan based on best practices for that alert type. The results are investigations with more depth than competing approaches produce, adapted to the context of each incident. “Prophet AI uses an agentic architecture, which means the system doesn’t follow a static script. It reasons,” Shah explained. This flexibility is becoming increasingly important as artificial intelligence transforms the cybersecurity landscape itself. During the interview, Shah referenced Mythos, an advanced AI model developed by Anthropic that reportedly demonstrated the ability to complete a simulated corporate cyberattack autonomously. “We have to fight AI with AI,” Shah said. “If you’re relying on a human to keep up with the attacks where the attackers are using AI, you’re not going to win.”
Taking a measured view of what’s ahead, Shah acknowledged that organizations are becoming increasingly aware of how AI may accelerate cyber threats in the coming years. Prophet Security’s platform is built around helping companies prepare for that shift, where both attackers and defenders will rely heavily on AI-powered systems.
Beyond alert investigations, the company has expanded its platform with additional capabilities. Prophet AI Threat Hunter allows analysts to conduct proactive threat hunting using natural language queries, helping teams search for suspicious behavior across complex environments more efficiently. The company also introduced Prophet AI Detection Engineer, a solution designed to improve detection coverage using the MITRE ATT&CK framework. The platform identifies security gaps, recommends improvements, and helps reduce false positives that contribute to analyst fatigue and burnout. These products form a connected AI-driven security operations platform spanning detection optimization, threat hunting, investigation, and response.
The company has already seen measurable results among customers. One Fortune 500 manufacturing organization reportedly used Prophet AI to complete more than 10,000 investigations within six months. According to Prophet Security, 71 percent of alerts were autonomously resolved as benign without analyst involvement, while confirmed malicious threats were escalated with full investigative context.
Across its customer base, the company reports an average tenfold improvement in SOC productivity. One customer highlighted the value the platform is providing to their organization:
